Activating Your Prepaid BlackBerry:

·         Enter *136# into a blank screen and then press the SEND key. You will then receive subsequent text messages with the codes to complete this activation process.

Renewing Your Prepaid BlackBerry:

·         You will receive a text message to renew your service the day before your plan expires

·         You may renew your plan when you receive the renewal message or up to the 30 days after the plan expires

·         You can restart service after the 30 day reactivation period by dialing *136#

·         You then have two options; you can choose to renew your existing plan or you can renew and switch to another plan

 

OPTION 1

·         To renew your existing plan, dial *136*1*<current plan code>#

 

OPTION 2 

·         To renew service and choose another plan:

o    Dial *136*2*<current plan code>#

o    You will then be instructed to choose the plan you want by dialing*136*<current plan code>*<new plan code>#

o    For example, to change from the 7 Day Plan to the 30 Day Plan:

§ Dial *136*2*10# and then dial *136*10*30#

 

 

Checking Your Expiration Date:

·         You can check the expiration date of your plan by dialing *136*<plan code>#

o    Dial *136*10# to check expiration of your 7 day plan

o    Dial *136*20# to check expiration of your 14 day plan

o    Dial *136*30# to check expiration of your 30 day plan

 

 

Activation Tips:

·         Follow the instructions provided in the text messages as they will indicate how to proceed

·         You can choose to cancel your activation request using *136*9# however please note that you will not be able to cancel the plan while you are on the service

·         If you do not receive the prompt to set up email, you can set up your email account using the email settings icon on your BlackBerry or by visiting the following website: http://digicel.blackberry.com and selecting “Create New Account”

·         You may not be able to setup your email account if your BlackBerry device is registered to different network or if another email account is already tied to the device

1.     What is the Digicel Prepaid Blackberry service?

Prepaid customers will now be able to access and use all the functionality of their BlackBerry devices (Internet, Email, BlackBerry Messenger, etc.) for a set time period, depending on the plan selected!

 

2.     What do you need in order to access the Prepaid BlackBerry Service?

All you need is a Prepaid account with adequate credit available and a GSM BlackBerry device.

 

3.     Is Prepaid BlackBerry service the same as Postpaid BlackBerry Service?

Yes. Prepaid BlackBerry service uses the same BlackBerry Internet Service offered to Postpaid customers and therefore has the same features. With Prepaid BlackBerry you have more options – one week, two weeks or one month signup to suit your budget.

 

4.     Which plans are available with the Prepaid Blackberry Service?

Available plans and the regular rates as of Jan 11, 2009 are:

a)     7 Day Plan - $15

b)    14 Day Plan - $28

c)     30 Day Plan - $50
