Activation Tips
· You can choose to cancel your activation request using *136*9#. Please note, however, that you will not be able to cancel the plan while you are on the service
· If you do not receive the prompt to set up email, you can set up your email account using the email settings icon on your BlackBerry or by visiting the following website: http://digicel.blackberry.com and selecting “Create New Account”
· You may not be able to setup your email account if your BlackBerry device is registered to different network or if another email account is already tied to the device
1. What is the Digicel Prepaid Blackberry service?
· Digicel Bermuda prepaid customers now have the ability to access and use all the functionality of their Blackberry devices (internet, email, BlackBerry® Messenger, etc.) for a set time period (depending on the plan selected).
· Digicel customers will receive BlackBerry Internet Service (BIS), which allows you to stay in touch on the go; an office in your hands!
2. Does the new Prepaid Blackberry service offer the same services as postpaid?
· Yes. Prepaid BlackBerry service uses the same BlackBerry Internet Service offered to postpaid customers and therefore has the same features. With Prepaid BlackBerry, you have more options – 7, 14 or 30 day plans, as well as the BlackBerry Social plans – to suit your budget.
3. What do I need to access the Prepaid Blackberry Service?
· All you need is a prepaid account with adequate credit available and a GSM BlackBerry device.
4. What are the benefits of the Digicel Prepaid Blackberry service?
· No set up fee.
· Our service can be activated very quickly and easily by dialing *136#.
· Our prepaid plans offer variable service periods of 7, 14 and 30 days rather than a fixed one (1) month service period to suit your budget.

7. What is the difference between BlackBerry Social Data and BlackBerry Complete Data?
· BlackBerry Social Data gives you access to social networking services and instant messaging services, which include sending and receiving notifications from such social networking services as Facebook, Twitter, Google Talk, and access to BlackBerry Messenger. No email or internet browsing is allowed with this plan.
· BlackBerry Complete provides the same data services as the Postpaid BlackBerry, including email and internet browsing, in addition to the social networking and instant messaging allowed on BlackBerry Social.
8. How do I activate prepaid BlackBerry?
· To activate any Prepaid BlackBerry Data plan, enter *136# and press the SEND key. You will then receive subsequent text messages with the codes to complete this activation process for whichever plan you choose.
9. Can I complete the activation process without removing my battery?
· Yes, you can activate the service with a few short steps:
o Simply access the Menu on your phone
o Go to ‘Options’,
o Go to ‘Advanced Options’
o Go to ‘Host Routing Table’ , press the BlackBerry Menu Button and choose ‘REGISTER NOW’
· The device will now automatically register on the network. You will receive a message from Blackberry Registration stating “Your handheld has been registered with the wireless network”
10. How many email accounts can I setup with my BlackBerry device if I subscribe to BlackBerry Full Data?
· You may have up to ten (10) separate email accounts on your Blackberry device, one of which is your device email address @digicel.blackberry.com.
11. How do I set up email on my BlackBerry?
· Shortly after a plan is activated and the BlackBerry restarted/registered, the browser will automatically load an email set-up webpage.
· If the webpage does not automatically load, you may select the ‘Email Settings’ icon from your BlackBerry menu or go to http://digicel.blackberry.com from your computer.
12. Can I cancel my Prepaid Blackberry plan once it has been activated?
· No. Once your Prepaid BlackBerry plan expires, you may opt to not renew it.
13. If I am roaming, will I be charged to use data services on my Blackberry?
· Yes. When roaming, data charges will be rated at the roaming data rate.
· Our customers can only roam in countries that support Prepaid Roaming, please refer to www.digicelbermuda.com for full list of Digicel roaming partners.
14. Can I renew my Prepaid Blackberry plan?
· You will receive a text message to renew your service the day before your plan expires.
· You may renew your plan when you receive the renewal message or up to 30 days after the plan expires.
· You may restart service after the 30 day reactivation period by dialing *136#.
· You then have two options: you may choose to renew your existing plan or you may switch to another plan:

15. If I am experiencing issues with the service, how do I troubleshoot?
· Does your device have upper case or lower case GPRS/EDGE?
o Upper case GPRS or EDGE indicates that the customer has data services, lower case gprs or edge indicates that the customer does not.
· Complete a power cycle (turn device off, remove & replace battery, then power device on)
· Contact Customer Service at 500-5611
16. What if I have an email account with another network/carrier on my BlackBerry?
· Your email service setup on the device will have to be removed by the other network/carrier. Simply contact that carrier/network with the appropriate verification/credentials for that account to be removed on your device.
17. Is there a minimum balance necessary to access BlackBerry services if a plan is active?
· Yes. You must have at least a minimum of 1¢ on your phone to access Prepaid Blackberry services once a plan is active.
