Otis Robinson’s personal goal is to win the 2012 Summer Olympics

HAMILTON, BERMUDA – MAY 21st, 2009: Digicel is pleased to announce sponsorship support for Otis Robinson in the Bermuda Half Marathon Derby.

The local runner has placed favourably in the annual event and is looking to improve his standings after many months of training.  In preparation for this year’s half marathon, Otis ran almost 90 miles, tapering at 50 miles, during the month of April.

Otis’ recent successes include completing:

• a 1/2 mile marathon in Austen, Texas on January 25th by placing 2nd in his 35-39 age group coming in at 1 hour, 17 minutes and 23 seconds
• a 5k run in Carlsbad, California on April 5th by placing 15^th in his 30-39 age group coming in at 17 minutes and 14 seconds
• a 10k race in Long Island, New York on May 3rd by placing 3^rd coming in at 36 minutes and 44 seconds

Says Otis Robinson about the support he has received from Digicel Bermuda, "I am very excited that Digicel is sponsoring my participation in the Bermuda Half Marathon Derby. I honestly feel humbled.
