DIGICEL DELIVERS HELP TO THE HUNGRY

Digicel delivers a truckload of food to Hands of Love Ministry to feed the hungry

Tuesday, March 22, 2011 – Hamilton, Bermuda. The food drive organized by Digicel Bermuda to assist Bermudian families in need culminated in the delivery of a truckload of food to Hands of Love Ministry (Charity #421) on Friday, March 18.

“We are so proud of our customers, our staff, and the general Bermudian public for their generosity,” stated Digicel Bermuda CEO, Wayne Caines. “Digicel thanks each and every person who brought cans and non-perishables to our stores or donated via text message. You have truly made a difference for families in need.”

Staff compiled the donations from both stores and prepared manageable boxes for delivery. The money from the text donations was used to purchase staple foods to complement the food hampers. All food was delivered to Hands of Love Ministry, which will distribute it to the people who need it.
